- There is no longer an application deadline for growers. While the previous deadline was February 15, the license application period is now open year-round.
- Tennessee Department of Agriculture no longer requires hemp processors to register through the department. Prior to the change, separate licenses were required to grow and process. Now, individuals processing CBD oil do not need a license.
- While those manufacturing, distributing or labeling hemp seed should be licensed through the Department of Agriculture, the hemp program will no longer issue licenses for certified breeders.
- Movement permits will still be required for growers when transporting rooted plants. Growers and are now also required to be permitted when moving harvested hemp from the grow site.
